Dr. Jennifer Bugg, Psy.D.
Licensed Psychologist and Clinical Neuropsychologist
Dr. Bugg has worked in the field of Psychology since 1991, receiving her Bachelors and Masters Degrees from the University of Colorado, and receiving her Doctorate in Psychology from the University of Denver, where she specialized in Forensic Neuropsychology. Dr. Bugg went on to complete Doctoral Internship, approved by the American Psychological Association Neuropsychology Division, at the University of Missouri School of Medicine, where she specialized in Neuropsychology, Health Psychology, Trauma, and Rehabilitation. She wrote her own study program in assessing Stroke related disorders and Vascular Dementia. In her Post-doctoral fellowship in Denver, she continued these studies, and also worked extensively with patients experiencing chronic pain. Dr. Bugg’s work has included a position at the world-renowned Johns Hopkins Hospital and the Kennedy Krieger Institute. She has been in private practice for 4 years and serves as an expert to courts in bother Colorado and Nebraska. She is a member of the National Association of Neuropsychologists and the International Neuropsychological Society.
As a psychologist, Dr Bugg’s approach with clients focuses on identifying the way that thinking, feeling, external stress, sleep, and lifestyle impact, pain, and medical care. She calls this the “Pain-Strain-Drain-Brain” model of treatment, and works to educate patients so that they can live happier lives and make the most of all integrated medical treatments. She is particularly interested in Anxiety disorders, depression, and recovery from traumatic life experiences. As a psychologist, Dr. Bugg believes very strongly that patients should not be “treated” (even psychologically) without thorough evaluation, to determine the important treatment issues from a “whole person” framework. Dr. Bugg also works as Clinical Neuropsychologist, and conducts evaluations and treatment with difficulties such as brain injury, Attention Deficit Disorder, Learning Disorder, Stroke, Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, diabetes, seizure disorder, and multiple sclerosis. Her focus is on thorough evaluation, education, and developing community supports and resources for treatment.
She has an 18 year old son and is active it the Performing Arts.
